Hello friends and family!! Well this week was literally crazy and I am a little heart broken because I am being transferred out of my area and away from my amazing companion!! I am going up to Leander, Texas which is up by Austin! I am super excited because I have family up there, so it will be cool to "accidentally" see them if I happen to!
This week a lot of good things happened in our area!!! We were able to go to Threads of Love like usual (which is going to be one of the hardest things about leaving this area) and we were talking with the head lady, and she invited us to come to her house for dinner! It was so cool because Threads of Love is just a Christian place, but a lot of the old ladies ask us all the time what we do as missionaries, so we get a lot of cool experiences as well! Well, we were able to go over to her house on Saturday! She is honestly so amazing! Her name is Liz, and she is actually not able to eat sugar or anything really, but she made raclette for us!!! She also made one of the sisters we live with a double layered fudge brownie for her birthday!! We did something really cool also as a thank you for dinner and for letting us come to threads of love, and we gifted her a Book of Mormon! We took a polaroid picture and taped it in the back, and then all four of us wrote our testimonies and also marked our favorite scripture, and when she opened it, she was so happy she LITERALLY BLEW US KISSES!! It was the cutest thing I have ever seen.
Last Wednesday I hit 4 months, and it was so special!! We had an amazing lesson with Xiomara and Hoffmara that night (I sure am going to miss these two special young ladies) and we invited them to be baptized on June 29th!! They are so ready, but we invited them to pray about it first and this Wednesday right before I leave we will hopefully be able to put them on date! We we're also able to take Xiomara to see a baptism yesterday and the Spirit was so strong, and we really hope that will help her push forward in her decision! Her and her daughter come to church like every week and are pretty much a part of the Relief Society, so they just need to be baptized!
We were also able to have an amazing lesson with Joel, and we put him on date for July 13th!! That will be a rough one to miss, just because I feel like he is one of my people since he had to put up with my bad spanish for a few lessons haha, but I am so happy and excited for him! The lesson was really cool, and he literally told us he is willing to live all of the commandments that God has given and believes the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, and it was so cool because Sister Schellenberg looked at him and was just like "well all you're missing is the water!" So we just helped him realize he will be ready! I am so very excited for him, he is such a cool guy and I really hope everything goes up for him from here!
We had a cool opportunity to go out to breakfast this past weekend with someone that knows Sister Schellenberg and is here doing summer sales, and it was sooooo awkward but sooooo funny as well because we at first thought it would just be him, and then that morning he said "we" in a text so we were hoping he had a wife, but it was definitely his sales partner which definitely looked like we were on a double date and it was quite funny haha but we just talked about missions the whole time so it was cool! His last name is Barnes so I asked him if he knows my family but he said no, but oh well!
A little update on Abimael: We had a visit this past weekend and it was just short because we were running late, but he seems to be doing alright! He wasn't able to make it to church because of a previous commitment, but I just hope and pray that he continues to push forward, and I am also glad Sis. Schellenberg is staying so she will be able to help him through this process!
I also got to talk in sacrament yesterday! It was crazy because I literally talked right before I had to leave the area haha but I think it went pretty good! I shared the same poem that I shared in my farewell talk, and I had a few people comment on it afterwards and reference my talk in relief society and even ask me for a copy of the poem, so it was really cool! Then we got to our spanish branch and as we walked in, the secretary asked us to give the prayers for the meeting so that was a nice surprise but all went well haha!
So like I said before I am being transferred to Austin! I am sad to leave this area and sure am going to miss a lot of the amazing people I have had the opportunity to meet, but I know there must be a reason I am being sent up there so I am excited to go up and figure it out! My new address will be 1680 Hero Way #3212 Leander Texas, and my new companions name is Hermana Vincent! She actually came out the same time that I did! She came from the Provo MTC two transfers ago, so we are both going into our third transfer which is kind of crazy but it will be a good experience for us both!
I love you all and am always so grateful for all of the love and support! I hope everybody has a "blessed week" and I look forward to hearing from "y'all" next week!
LOTS OF LOVE,
Hermana Griffin :)
The Book of Mormon we "gifted" to Liz.

They are the cutest and so nice!
Taking Xiamora to a Baptism.
The nice members that drove us there!
The Amazing Dinner at Liz's!
June 29th! This is what we look like when we realize we will all have a baptism on the same day!
